Jade Goody 'visits' mum Jackiey

Jackiey Budden says her late daughter Jade Goody has visited her

Jackiey Budden has claimed her daughter Jade Goody has appeared to her twice since her death two months ago.

Jackiey, 51, who nursed Jade while she was dying of cancer earlier this year, told the Daily Mirror Jade had since appeared to comfort her.

Jackiey said: "I was laying on a sunbed outside my apartment and talking out loud, saying 'Jade, you told me to call you and I am but you don't answer' and just then the clouds started moving and from the side of one of them I saw two faces looking down on me - it was Jade, totally clearly."

She continued: "She was beaming down and her hand was up as if she was waving. Her head was still bald but she looked so happy."

Talking about the other time Jade apparently appeared after death, Jackiey said: "I was coming home one evening and noticed my bathroom window was steamed up even though I'd been out.

"Then I saw in the steam was written 'Light a candle for me Mum'. Now I have a candle by my front door lit every night so Jade knows I'm always thinking of her."

Jackiey also described Jade's dying moments, and claimed Jade's husband Jack Tweed, who is due to be released from prison for assaulting a cab driver, was "amazing" during that time.

"It even made the MacMillan nurses cry that a 21-year-old boy could care for his wife so gently and beautifully," she said.

Stars Descend On Cannes

The 62nd Cannes Film Festival is underway, which means hundreds of actors, filmmakers and directors have descended on the south of France to promote their new releases, many hoping to find big-budget distributors for their films.

But the prestigious festival is also a target for models, celebrities and anyone lucky enough to score an invite - who come to parade along the waterfront or party on one of the yachts moored in the harbour. Stars including Myleene Klass, Steve Jones, Mariah Carey and future Doctor Who star Matt Smith have been living it up.

All-in-one speakers

Stunningly made from smoothly finished wood and glossy steel by Mexican designer Erick Sakal, these self-contained speakers feature a subwoofer in the centre, two tweeters on each side and a mid-range speaker at the top.

Music can be received wirelessly over Bluetooth, with a bundled Bluetooth transmitter handling non-compatible devices such as iPods.

A pint-sized version of the iPhone, the Nano would be a slimmed-down, basic mobile, offering EDGE network speeds as current 3G hardware just wouldn’t fit into its small shell.

An OLED screen would be essential to push battery life through the 12-hour mark, and there’s a good chance we could see Wi-Fi N, with flash memory capacities ranging from 8GB to 16GB.

Quotes Of The Week

Michael Jackson (Image © Yui Mok/PA Wire/Press Association Images)

A spokesman for Michael Jackson scotches rumours that skin cancer, or indeed elephants, are to blame for the postponement of the first four shows of his upcoming tour. This and more quotes of the week are here.

Illness not to blame for Jacko's postponed dates

Michael Jackson
"As usual, Michael Jackson is a magnet for preposterous and unverifiable stories in the media. He is in great health, working tirelessly on creating the greatest live performance of his career, and does not have skin cancer or elephants in his show." AEG Live president Randy Phillips denies reports that ill-health is the reason Jacko postponed the first dates of his UK tour, adding the delay is due to the "size and scope" of the show

Davina Personal life

Personal life

After dating Eric Clapton, McCall married Andrew Leggett in 1997, but was soon divorced.
In 2000 she married Matthew Robertson, presenter of Pet Rescue, and they have three children: Holly (born September 2001), Tilly (born September 2003) and Chester (born 14 September 2006). Coincidentally, they were all born in the same month of different years, and McCall has been pregnant during Big Brothers 2, 4 and 7. She had all of her children at home and is a big advocate of home birth.

Davina appeared in several adverts for Garnier Nutrisse in which it featured one sided conversations with her mother, in reality Davina had not seen her mother for many years. Davina's mother died before ever meeting her grand children.

A sound clip of her daughter Holly saying "International Radio 1" is played occasionally by Radio 1 presenter Chris Moyles during his breakfast show.

Celebrity Big Brother

Davina McCall's with Celebrity Big Brother winner Shilpa Shetty

After accusations of racism and bullying, Channel 4 will 'rest' Celebrity Big Brother in 2008. The treatment of the winner, Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, by fellow housemates the late Jade Goody, Danielle Lloyd and Jo O'Meara elicited 54,000 complaints and led to effigies being burnt on the streets of India.

Davina, The TV Show

Davina McCall's BBC press shot

Davina's attempts to branch out on BBC1 were an abject disaster. Her Saturday early evening show He's Having a Baby was pulled after just one series. The BBC gave her a chat show entitled Davina, but it struggled and was eventually axed in 2006. The Wednesday night programme's audience had dropped to as low as 2.3 million. It was panned by critics.

Dummy Tribute

Davina McCall's Madame Tussauds dummy

Even Madame Tussauds acknowledged Davina's frequent tendency to be pregnant during Big Brother. At their Big Brother experience exhibition in 2006, they installed a Davina McCall dummy, complete with pregnancy bump. All three of her children are September babies.

Davina Charitable Concerns

Davina McCall launches Sport Relief

Davina McCall is extremely active when it comes to lending her support to various causes. She's pictured (pregnant) launching Sports Relief for the BBC and is also a permanent Comic Relief fixture. In addition, she's backed various charities promoting issues such as homelessness, childbirth and drugs.

The Bizarreness Of Big Brother

Davina McCall with Jackie Stallone

With her first words ("Yeah, Jackie!"), Sly's 'mom' Jackie Stallone instantly became a Big Brother legend. She perpetually looked as if she had no idea what day it was, never mind what Celebrity Big Brother was all about. As you'd expect, her interview with Davina was hilarious.

Davina TV Presenting

Davina McCall interviews Big Brother winner Nadia

Although a popular face, Davina has attracted criticism about aspects of her interviewing technique. Some Big Brother viewers have accused her of letting the more controversial contestants off too easily. Conversely, there are fans who've insisted she was too harsh with others.

Davina's Expanding Family

A pregnant Davina McCall hosts Big Brother

Pregnant during various series of Big Brother, Davina gave birth to a son who followed two daughters. She was asked about the difference: "Well, for the first month, I kept saying 'Good girl'…'Oh, look at her', that sort of thing. So it took a bit of getting used to. And the whole changing nappy thing is interesting."

Pete Waterman, Geri Halliwell, Davina McCall and Louis Walsh

In 2002, this was the latest in the seemingly endless conveyor belt of talent search programmes. The show set out to create a boy band and a girl band who'd battle it out for the Christmas No 1 spot in the charts. The result was Louis Walsh's Girls Aloud and Pete Waterman's One True Voice…remember them?

Davina With Jade Goody

One of the most popular Big Brother contestants ever, the late Jade Goody made a fortune from the franchise. Pity poor Kate Lawler (who?) as she was the Big Brother series 3 winner.

Davina's TV Awards

Davina regularly picks up awards for Big Brother. She's pictured at the Royal Television Society Programme Awards in 2000. Among other gongs, the series has won a National Television Award in the Most Popular Reality Programme category and a TV Quick Awards for Best Reality Programme.

Big Brother

Endemol boss Peter Bazalgette picked Davina McCall to host Big Brother in 2000. The rest is mass exposure. She's pictured with Craig Phillips, the first ever UK winner. He donated his £70,000 prize fund to his friend Joanne to pay for her heart and lung transplant.

Say Cheese!

Davina McCall and Matthew Robertson's wedding day

Davina married former Pet Rescue presenter Matthew Robertson in 2000. The couple met while she was walking her dog in West London. They have three children: Holly, Tilly and Chester.

Davina Hosts The Brits

Davina McCall hosts the Brit Awards

In 2000, Davina presided over one of the most infamous moments in Brit Awards history. Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood was about to present when dance DJ Brandon Block, who was rather drunk, stormed on. He was reprimanded by the rock legend and retaliated. They traded insults and then Ronnie Wood threw a drink over him. Poor Davina did her best to calm things down…

The Dating Game

Perhaps only dedicated fans will be aware that Davina McCall is also an author. The Dating Game, her first book published in 2000, covered everything from getting a date to toothbrush negotiations and moving in. She's pictured at its launch in London.

Davina and Matthew Robertson

Her first marriage to aspiring actor Andrew Leggett broke down after just four months. However, her second to Matthew Robertson has been far more successful. Also a TV personality, his past presenting roles include Channel 4's Pet Rescue. They married in 2000 and have three children: Holly, Tilly and Chester.

Don't Try This At Home!

Davina McCall and Kate Thornton

Oooh they're so tough! Davina and co-presenter Kate Thornton launch ITV series Don't Try This At Home! back in 1999. The programme showcased ordinary members of the public and professional stunt experts performing nail-biting challenges.

Davina: 2010 Is The Last Big Brother

Davina McCall (Image © Channel 4)Davina McCall has said that next year's Big Brother will be the last. As a presenter, she has fronted various television programmes, but remains best known for being the face of Big Brother.

The star, who will helm Big Brother 10 when it returns in June, said: "It's definitely only got two years left." Channel 4 is contracted to air the series until next year, but most critics and many fans agree that it is definitely a shadow of its former self.

Last year's final, won by nice girl Rachel Rice, had the lowest final night audience of the show's nine series, peaking with an audience of just over five million viewers. What's more, the franchise has lost the services of Russell Brand (former host of Big Brother's Big Mouth) and Dermot O'Leary (long associated with Big Brother's Little Brother) with both men going on to bigger and better things (a Hollywood career and X Factor respectively). However Davina, Big Brother host since the 2000 launch, insisted: "It's become an institution; the summer is all about Big Brother, just like winter is all about the X Factor."

It's telling that, for the first time, action from the Big Brother house in Elstree, Herts will not be streamed live to viewers. A source said: "It's a cost-cutting measure." But there will be a tribute to the late Big Brother 3 star Jade Goody on E4; it will air before Big Brother 10 starts. Without a doubt, this is the show that has made Davina what she is today. We look at her life on TV in our gallery.
